Viper karabiners and the light-weight Adders, demonstrate that design innovations and performance are possible using cold forging technology. They feature an offset D shape with arched spines that fit the hand comfortably and a nose that protrudes just enough to clip in with ease. Thin, light-weight spines are combined with a large radius inside surface where the karabiner comes into contact with the rope to minimize both weight and rope wear. We use 10mm tri-lobal 7000-series aircraft alloy stock, heat treated to T-6 temper. These ergonomic karabiners are ideal for high performance climbing applications.
All BlueWater aluminum karabiners have hooded gates to protect the rope from abrading against the inside of the gate opening. Spin riveted gates eliminate gate stress while providing superior gate holding strength. The locking sleeve on our aluminum screw gates can be removed for cleaning if dirt and grit clog the threads.
BlueWater karabiners are rated by their minimum strength. This minimizes the chance a BlueWater karabiner will fail below its rated strength.
Adder Karabiners In any application where weight is a serious consideration the light-weight Adder is the obvious choice. Available in a bent gate for clipping the rope end of a quick draw and in a straight gate for all other applications. Weight: 50gm UIAA-Certified. Strength 24kN, Gate Open 9 kN
